America’s movement in the post-Crimea Eurasian chessboard![]() The recent Ukraine conflict reminds us of World War I, which started exactly a century ago (1914-1918). It created a worldwide concern of a new Cold War between the West and Russia. A local crisis has been bringing far-reaching changes to the Eurasian geopolitical chessboard, including the Middle East region and beyond the public’s expectation. In April, U.S President Barack Obama officially visited 4 Asian countries: Japan, South Korea, Malaysia and Philippines in order to push the “pivot” policy amid all the crises and changes in the world. This trip took place one month after the Nuclear Security Summit in Holland and an unscheduled G-7 meeting on Russian sanctions. |
10th year anniversary of Confucius Institution An effort to penetrate into global culture![]() On 27th September, more than 3 thousands various activities and cultural events were featured in branches of Confucius Institutions (CIs) and Confucius Classrooms (CCs) around the world to celebrate the “Global Confucius Institution Day”, marking the first ten years since the inaugural Confucius Institution was established in Uzbekistan in 2004. Preliminarily, CIs worldwide have gained over - expected achievements. |
Resetting Vietnam - China relations![]() Recently, a researcher of the Institute of South Asia and Southeast Asia Studies (China), Zhu Zhenming, wrote a commentary on the Global Times titled: “Take Sino - Vietnam relations back to the orbit”. The author noted that: “Vietnam and China are both socialist countries, which are committed to socialism unique to each of them. Both share the same ideologies and our future is closely bound to one another”. |
