The TV broadcast show covered the East Sea issues, the boosting of Vietnam’s maritime economy and the 2^nd edition of Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Truong’s book “On the East Sea issues”. The book drew a comprehensive picture of the East Sea, the 350-year process of Dai Viet – Viet Nam’s exploitation, management, and enforcement of sovereignty over Spratly Islands and and Paracel Islands. The show also went into introducing the next three parts of the book relating to the role, policy, and involvement of countries such as China, the US, Japan, Russia, India and ASEAN in the East Sea. 

Vietnam is a marinetime country with 1 million square kilometers of marine waters. In the 21st century - "the era of the ocean", the sea bears life-and-death significance to the prosperity and modernization of our country. Both Mr. Tran Ngoc Chau and Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Truong emphasized the point that Vietnam should strive to become a "strong maritime nation".
