Discussion on multilateral diplomacy on VTV4

The discussion reiterated that multilateral diplomacy is the official diplomacy between countries and multinations. The main mission of this kind of diplomacy is to solve multinational, regional and global issues. Since the Second World War, the multilateral diplomacy has been introduced. In the 1960s a series of countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America established. It is considered the great development step of the democratization process of international life and the progress of human history. 

The multilateral and bilateral diplomacy has been mutually complementing. Some multilaterally-related issues need the support of bilateral diplomacy to “open the knot”.

The 21^st century multilateral diplomacy is now moving toward building the new economic and political order based on respect for international law. 

Vietnam has a comprehensive and mature diplomacy, including bilateral, multilateral and public diplomacy. Multilateral diplomacy combined with bilateral diplomacy and public diplomacy can create the diplomatic power for Vietnam. In the 20th century, this diplomacy contributed to the legendary Vietnam.
